Making the tablety-tablets

Over the years we have made a lot of tablet. But until 2022, we have never made 'tablety-tablet'. The process wasn't easy... the 3D tablet design was made to be obviously different from any true pharmaceutical tablet, able to fit into a medicines box (which we could post to someone), and in a portion size which wouldn't be seen as miserly or excessive.

In the end after some 3D design, many rounds of 3D printing, various attempts at casting and moulding, we managed to create a suitable tablet mould.. But not before a lot of lessons were learned about 3D design, printing and in particular 'cure inhibition' of food-safe silicones... We hope you find the picture show interesting!
